1. Reacts to temperature differences of indoor and outdoor
Geometric forms build up into an organic crystal structure and melts into individual tetrahedrons as the two extreme states.
2. Subtle notification of temperature instead of explicit quantitative value
3. Prompts change in heat usage by personals
4. Led showcase base pulses faster when outside temperate is hot and slows down when cold.
5 A possibility of having one table top structure and another in the garden and the difference in their forms makes a statement about energy usage.
I was responsible for the ideation, and discovering the final form, mechanism. The proof of concept prototypes were created using one single cereal box and modeled with solidworks to show mechanisms. I moved my team from a static, linear, predictable and controlled movements to a looser, more random and modular structure. By developing structures that are so simple, mass manufacturing of this product is possible. Also this product is very scalable and has room to grow in terms of discovering and playing with different patterns, forms and structures. An over sized version of the product can be a shape shifting climbing wall.
